About Saudi Arabia

The unified Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was created in 1932 as an absolute monarchy. Oil was discovered in 1932 and became the building force of the Saudi economy. Riyadh is the capital and the largest city. The Kingdom is the birthplace of Islam and home to Islam's two holiest shrines in Makah and Madinah.
